Central Publicity Secretary to the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor TasnimAlam has issued the following statement on 9th January, 2017 gainsaying the false and baseless report of Daily Jugantor titled “জামায়াত নেতাদেরনিয়ে স্ত্রীর নানাবাণিজ্য” (Wife’s various business with the Jamaat leaders).

No leader of Jamaat-e-Islami has any business with KhurshidJahanSriti, the wife of Gaibandha-1 constituency’s murdered lawmaker of ruling Awami League Monjurul Islam Liton. So no question is emanated for any Jamaat leaders and activists of having any involvement with the murder of Monjurul Islam Liton. The Daily Jugantor has published a false and confusing report quoting the comments of KhurshidJahanSriti.

Jamaat-e-Islami has no relevance with Masudur Rahman alias MiskinMukul, who is quoted in the Jugantor report as a familiar to KhurshidJahanSriti, the wife of Monjurul Islam Liton. He can never be a Jamaat leader. Jamaat has no connection with Mr. Fariduddin, who has been referred in the said report as the financial sponsor of Jamaat-e-Islami. This intentional report has quoted one of the aforesaid person as the Jamaat leader and another as party’s financial sponsor in order to tarnish the image of Jamaat-e-Islami.

I am urging the authorities of Daily Jugantor to be refrained from publishing such false and baseless report against Jamaat-e-Islami in future.”
