Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General and Head of the party's Publicity and Media Department, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair issued a statement today, 1 January in which he stated that,

“We came to know the statement made by former MP (Chapainawabganj- 3) Professor Latifur Rahman at a courtyard meeting held on 30 December in Charbaghdanga Union of Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila. The remarks he made there, quoting Awami League, are his personal opinions. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami neither agree with his statement, nor it reflect the party’s position.

The organization has warned him in this regard.”
