Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Mia Golam Parwar today, 17 January issued a statement strongly condemning and protesting the filing of a politically motivated false case against Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Chairman Dr. Colonel (Retd.) Oli Ahmed, Bir Bikram, a veteran freedom fighter of the Liberation War.

In his statement, he said: “Liberal Democratic Party Chairman Dr. Colonel (Retd.) Oli Ahmed is a veteran freedom fighter. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Great Liberation War, he was awarded the title of Bir Bikram. He is an honest, democracy-minded, and patriotic senior politician. He has played an important role in all democratic movements of the country.

He further said that filing a false case against such a clean and dignified political figure is extremely undesirable, unwarranted, and driven by dishonest political motives.

“I strongly demand that the concerned authorities immediately withdraw this harassing and false case.”
