Police arrests Jamaat men from Rajshahi and Feni district; Professor Mujib condemns

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 11th July, 2017 protesting and condemning the unjust arrest of 7 leaders and activists from Rajshahi including Rajshahi west organizational district’s working committee member Jalal Uddin and similar unlawful arrest of Feni district’s Fulgazi Upazila Ameer Abul Hossain Miaji.

“Police has arrested 7 leaders and activists from Rajshahi including Rajshahi west organizational district’s working committee member Jalal Uddin, Kakonhat Municipality Ameer Nazmul Alam and Feni district’s Fulgazi Upazila Ameer Abul Hossain Miaji just to harass him politically. They are completely innocent.

The government has indiscriminately arrested in connection with some false cases just to conceal its mountainous failure to tackle deteriorating flood situations, unprecedented looting and increasing trend of infectious disease Chikongunia. Even the mass media activists are not spared from such repression. By obstructing the general organizational activities of Jamaat leaders and activists, actually the government is violating the constitution and taking the nation towards one party BAKSHAL rule. The people of the country will not let the government to materialize such intentional dream.

I am asking the concerned authorities to release all the detained leaders and activists including Rajshahi west organizational district’s working committee member Jalal Uddin and Feni district’s Fulgazi Upazila Ameer Abul Hossain Miaji immediately.”
