Jamaat leaders and activists arrested from Gaibandha and Feni district: Mia Ghulam Parwar protests

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former member of the Parliament Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 7th July, 2017 protesting and condemning the unjustifiable arrest of Gaibandha district Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdul Wares and 17 other leaders and activists including district’s Saghata Upazila Jamaat Secretary Enamul Haque and similar unjust arrest of Feni district’s Sonagazi Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Md. Mustafa.

“Police has unjustifiably arrested Gaibandha district Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdul Wares, district’s Saghata Upazila Jamaat Secretary Enamul Haque and Feni district’s Sonagazi Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Md. Mustafa and other leaders and activists just to harass them politically.

The government is detaining the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami continuously unlawfully just to stay in power. The fascist face of the government is being exposed again and again by the incidents like mass arrest, abduction, enforced disappearance and murder. I am urging the countrymen to raise voice against the fascist activists of the government.

I am calling upon the concerned authorities to release all the detained leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami including Gaibandha district Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdul Wares immediately.”
