-Mia Golam Porwar

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar issued a statement on 23rd October, 2025 urging the people of the country to make the previously announced protest rallies and processions in all major cities and divisional headquarters on 25 October (Saturday) fully successful.

In the statement, he said that on 19 October, a press conference was held at the National Press Club on behalf of the eight political parties engaged in the movement, presenting the five-point public demands of the movement to the nation and announcing the fourth phase of the three-day program.

The demands are as follows:

1. To issue the necessary constitutional order for the implementation of the July National Charter and to hold a referendum on this order by November.

2. To implement the PR (proportional representation) system in both houses/upper houses in the next national election.

3. To ensure a level playing field for all to ensure free, fair, and acceptable elections.

4. To make the trial of all atrocities, mass killings, and corruption by the fascist government visible.

5. To ban the activities of the collaborators of dictatorship including the Jatiya Party and 14-party alliance.

To achieve the announced five-point public demands, protest rallies and processions will be held in all major cities and divisional headquarters on 25 October (Saturday), Insha’Allah. On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, I earnestly call on the people of the country to participate spontaneously in this program and make it fully successful.
