Professor Mujibur Rahman visits severely injured Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur in hospital

-Professor Mujibur Rahman

On September 2 (Tuesday) afternoon, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament, Professor Mujibur Rahman, visited the hospital to see Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur, who was severely injured by the attack of the law enforcement agency members recently. Jamaat-e-islami's Central Executive Council member Mobarak Hossain was also present at that time.

After the visit, in a brief press briefing, Professor Mujibur Rahman said:
“Nurul Haque Nur is a nationally recognized leader. He has played an important role in Bangladesh’s ongoing movement and continues to do so. On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, we have already strongly condemned the attack on him, and Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher has also visited him in the hospital.

We pray to Allah seeking his quick recovery. We also pray for him so that once again he can play an active role for the welfare of the country and the nation. In this critical juncture of the nation, we must all work together through unity, solidarity, and responsibility. We need to make collective efforts to ensure a credible election. We want to see our country governed by an authority, elected by the people’s vote.

Thanking the journalists, he said: The way journalist friends are fulfilling their duties for the welfare of the country and the nation is commendable. May Allah accept their sacrifices and hardships. Ameen.

In response to a question from journalists, he said: The attack on Nurul Haque Nur is a condemnable incident. A proper investigation into such incidents is necessary. The culprits must be identified through investigation, brought under the rule of law, and punished. We believe that in any case, immediate investigation and justice are indispensable.”
