A meeting was held today, Tuesday, July 15, at the DMP headquarters between the senior officials of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and a delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to discuss the smooth and disciplined implementation of the party’s upcoming national rally. The rally, organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, is scheduled to take place at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Saturday, July 19, Insha Allah.
The successful meeting, which lasted from 3:00 PM to 4:45 PM, included a 7-member delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The delegation was led by Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Media and Publicity Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair. Other members of the delegation included Central Working Committee Member and Secretary of Dhaka City South Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, Central Working Committee Member and Secretary of Dhaka City North Dr. Rezaul Karim, Central Majlis-e-Shura Member and Assistant Secretary of Dhaka City South Md. Delawar Hossain; Central Majlis-e-Shura Member and General Secretary of Bangladesh Sramik Kollan Federation Advocate Atikur Rahman; Central Majlis-e-Shura Member and Assistant Secretary of Dhaka City South Mohammad Kamal Hossain; and Mr. Abdus Sattar Sumon, Member of Majlis-e-Shura and Assistant Publicity Secretary of Dhaka City South.
On behalf of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, the meeting was presided over by Additional Commissioner of Crimes and Operations, Nazrul Islam, and moderated by Joint Commissioner of Operations, Md. Shahidullah. A total of 11 senior DMP officials participated in the meeting.
During the discussion, Additional Commissioner Nazrul Islam assured that the DMP would provide full support to ensure that Jamaat-e-Islami’s "National Rally" is conducted peacefully and in an orderly manner.
Following the meeting, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair briefed the attending journalists and media representatives on the topics discussed and responded to various questions from the press.
