The concept of caretaker govenrment is the brainchild of Jamaat-e-Islami. It has been promoted and placed by former Jamaat Ameer Professor Ghulam Azam. The demand of caretaker govenrment has become a popular demand now. We have to intensify the ongoing movement with the help and participation of the people. We have to take preparation for an all-out movement despite all fears and intimidation.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman said this while virtually addressing a daylong workshop with the Upazila Ameer, Nayeb-e-Ameer and Secretaries of Rangpur-Dinajpur region on 3rd June.
Acting Ameer said, Jamaat Ameer and other top leaders have been kept behind bars unlawfully. We want immediate release of all political prisoners.
He further said, the United States of America has imposed a new visa restriction for Bangladesh due to the undemocratic activities of the government, which is really a shame for the nation. They do not have any moral right to rule this nation.
Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher said, ahead of the next election, we have to make broad base movement centering the issue of caretaker government system. So, all patriot citizens should take preparations to participate in this movement. Grassroots organizations to be diverted towards election and effective measures should be taken in this regard.
Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum said, to save the nation from the clutches of this autocratic movement, the demands of the caretaker government must be met. To do so, there is no alternative but forming a unity between the opposition parties in order to initiate a massive movement.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General and the coordinator for Rangpur-Dinajpur region Maulana Abdul Halim presided over the program. In his address, he said, we have to intensify the ongoing movement. We have regain civic rights through movement. The leaders and activists of the organization should be more active to make the declared programs successful.
Jamaat’s central working committee member and Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s assistant coordinator Principal Maulana Momtaz Uddin hosted the program. Among others, central working committee member and Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s team member Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s team member Professor Azizur Rahman Sarkar and others were present on the occasion.
