Fair, credible election under a non-party government has become a public demand. As such all-out movement should be launched to press the demand of forming a non-party government in order to hold the next election under a non-party government. Everyone should play an active role in this movement.
BangladeshJamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said this while addressing a daylong workshop with the Bogra district’s working committee members in a local auditorium on 15th May. Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and Bogra region’s acting coordinator Maulana Abdul Halim presided over the program.
He further said, the incumbent election commission is another choice and subservient body to the present Awami League government. The countrymen believe this commission will hold the same controversial election as the previous two commissions had done. So, a broad base movement should be initiated to press the demand of holding a fair election. If the nation cannot free itself from the tyrannical government even in the next election, then the nation’s fate will become very uncertain. Whatsoever promises are being made by this government, they will never hold a free, fair, and credible election and it has been proved multiple times so far.
Jamaat Ameer said, that fellow countrymen are suffering terribly due to the massive price hike of the essentials. Whereas police are arresting Jamaat leaders and activists nationwide as they are protesting against this price hike. Recently, a vested quarter has started a new plot with 116 religious scholars. The government is also backing them in a bid to create anarchy. The insult and humiliation of our religious scholars will never be tolerated.
Addressing the leaders, Jamaat Ameer said, Jamaat leaders and activists should take the side of the people in crisis and danger. They have to work for the distressed communities. We have to accomplish the unfinished tasks of our martyrs in order to attain the satisfaction of Almighty Allah.
Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Dhaka city South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul addressed the workshop as the special guest.
