Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syeed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has said, the people of the country had extended their consensus with the ongoing anti-government movement. This movement to be made more intense. In future, tougher programs will be declared to thwart the one-sided farcical election and the incumbent fascist government will be collapsed ultimately in the wake of the all-out movement of the opposition parties.
He said this while addressing a conference of the district Majlish-e-Shura members, Upazila/thana Ameer and secretaries of Jessore-Kushtia region. Maulana Azizur Rahman hosted the conference which was also addressed by Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Jessore-Kushtia region’s coordinator Mobarak Hossain. Regional team member Dr. Alamgir Bishash, Principal Ali Mohsin and concerned district Ameers were present on the occasion.
Dr. Taher said, the whole world know that no real election took place in 2014 and 2018; those two elections were farce. People have no confidence upon this fascist government. Awami League know they will face a disaster if election occurs properly. So, they will never go for a sound election. Farcical election is their only option and they are mulling to repeat it once again. So, the parties who are opposing such ill-efforts of Awami League, must take the ongoing movement into such a height so that all doors for holding such a farcical election shut. We believe that by the grace of Almighty Allah and with the efforts of the people, Awami League finally will not be able to hold a one-sided election. We have to make the maximum effort to secure our victories.
He said, a party without registration can not take part in election with its own name and party symbol. But there is no constitutional bar in holding political programs. Following the cancellation of Jamaat’s registration by the High Court, Jamaat has been continuing its political programs properly and systematically. Jamaat will continue this strategy in the upcoming days as well.
Mobarak Hossain said, there is neither a congenial atmosphere nor a level-playing field which are essentials for a fair and credible election. To create a desired level-playing field, Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and other top leaders of the opposition must be released. All false cases to be withdrawn. Political parties should be allowed to hold meeting, processions and rallies. Jamaat’s central offices and other city and district offices must be allowed to be opened.
He said, the incumbent government is in the office by holding two farcical elections in 2014 and 2018. All local and foreign stakeholders are pressing the government to resolve the ongoing political deadlock. But the government is paying no heed to their call. We would like to assert that they will not be allowed to play any tricky game with democracy. Alongside the people, we will resist the conspiracy of the ruling party of holding another one-sided election.
