Islamic movement cannot be subdued by the means of torture and repression. The government must step down by facilitating next election under a caretaker government. The countrymen will not accept any farcical election this time. We have to take all-out preparations to ensure an effective election. The activists of the Islamic movement should remain firm on the field with the spirit of dedication and sacrifice. We should nurture the desire of accepting martyrdom in our hearts. Based on the contributions and assistances of the people of all walks, we want to establish a peaceful and progressive country.
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman said this while virtually addressing a conference of the Khulna district and city Jamaat’s working committee members on 24th August afternoon.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s central working committee member and Khulna region’s acting coordinator Maulana Abul Kalam Azad presided over the conference. Jamaat’s central executive committee member Mobarak Hossain addressed the conference as the special guest. Among others, Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member and Khulna city Ameer Professor Mahfuzur Rahman, Satkhira district Ameer Muhaddith Rabiul Bashar, Khulna district Ameer Maulana Emran Hossain and Bagerhat district Ameer Maulana Rezaul Karim addressed the program.
Describing the charge framing incident against 96 Jamaat men including Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Acting Ameer said, Jamaat-e-Islami is a systematic and democratic political party. Jamaat is used to observe peaceful political programs. Jamaat’s political rights are well recognized and constitutionally guaranteed. But we are observing that Jamaat is not allowed to hold such programs and party’s political rights are being denied frequently. The government is making efforts to eliminate this party for last 15 years. They executed our top leaders based on the false testimonies of the ruling partymen.
Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, central executive committee member and Dhaka north city Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin, and central Majlish-e-Shura member and former MP Shahjahan Chowdhury are being kept behind the bar for many days. Despite securing bail from the high court, they are not released. They are being shown arrested in new cases in connection with the incidents, which are taken place while they are inside the prison. These are nothing but violation of human rights. The government has initiated a farce in the name of trial and we are urging them to stop such farce immediately.
Mobarak Hossain said, we have to work hard to establish Islam in this country. There no chance to show negligence in this regard. We should rely on Allah in all occasions. We should keep it in mind that this world is temporary. We have to maintain this worldly life prioritizing the hereafter. We have to continue struggle to save the nation from the oppression of tyrants. Despite their tortures and harassment, we have to continue Islamic activities by all means. We should carry out our worldly activities in such a noble way so that our accountability towards Allah becomes easier.
