Just several months are left to witness 12th national election. In last 15 years, Awami League has destroyed the electoral system of the country. The countrymen could not cast their votes under the current regime. The incumbent government has proved that, free, fair and credible election is not possible under their arrangement. So, there is no alternative but restoring caretaker government system for holding a fair election.
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker ProfessorMujibur Rahman said this while addressing a virtual conference of the members followed by a prayer program seeking salvation for Jamaat’s former Nayeb-e-Ameer,world renowned scholar of the Quran Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee. Jamaat-e-Islami Jessore district west organized the program.
The world community closely observed that how the authority has committed extreme negligence in arranging treatment of Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee despite his reported major cardiac arrest. Allama Sayedee is a prolific figure and he has been elected MP for twice. But the authority failed to ensure his minimum treatment. They wasted time unreasonably. No medical board was formed. He was not properly diagnosed as well. The countrymen demand proper investigation into incident, particularly the reported negligence and also the punishment of the involved personnel.
More tragic part is, the incumbent tyrannical government not only allowed his funeral in the capital Dhaka but also disallowed to holding his funeral in absentia. Attempts of such funerals have been obstructed in various places across the country. Hundreds of leaders and activists have been arrested as well. False cases have been issued against thousands of leaders and activists. I am protesting the inhuman activities of the incumbent tyrant government.
He said, Jamaat men should work proactively in the field to ensure salvation both in this world and the hereafter. Individual morality should be increased to meet the demands of faith. Organizational activities to be expanded and public impressions should be built through Dawah and mass communications. Jamaat leaders and activists should engage in the one-point movement for securing and protecting independence, freedom and sovereignty.
District Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman presided over the program which was hosted by district secretary Maulana Shihab Uddin. Among others, Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Election Affairs Secretary Principal Md. Ijjat Ullah, central executive committee member and Jessore-Kushtia region’s coordinator Mobarak Hossain, central working committee member and Jessore-Kushtia region’s assistant-coordinator Maulana Azizur Rahman addressed the program.
