Based on a consensus between all the alliance and political parties, the outline of caretaker government system was introduced and following the step down of the Ershad led government, an election was held under the caretaker regime which was free, fair and credible. But regrettably, Awami League came to the office in 2008 and cancelled the provision of the caretaker government through a judicial order. But the elections of 2014 and 2018 under the Awami League regime proved that fair election is not possible under this government. Bangladesh is in deep crisis, fair election under caretaker government is the only solution. We want to reaffirm that we will not go to any election without a caretaker government.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General and Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s coordinator Maulana Abdul Halim said this while virtually addressing a members’ workshop organized by Panchagarh district Jamaat-e-Islami on 15th July, Saturday.
He said, Jamaat always took stance against the autocrat regime. Jamaat’s two ministers who had discharged duties during the 4-party alliance government, had set unique example of honesty, justice and corruption-free activities. This is why, people love Jamaat-e-Islami and they want Jamaat to lead the nation in the upcoming das. So, the members have to take lesson from the lives of the companions and our martyr leaders. Allah will certainly give victory if an effort is carried out by dint of sacrifice and sincerity.

Abdur Rab, central working committee member and Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s assistant coordinator Maulana Momtaz Uddin and Nilphamari district Ameer Abdur Rashid addressed the program.
