Kaler Kantha publishes fictitious and intentional post-editorial against Jamaat-e-Islami; Matiur Rahman Akanda condemns

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s central Publicity Affairs Secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 28 April 2021 protesting and gainsaying Daily Kaler Kantha’s post editorial titled “এই ‘চ্যারিয়ট অব ফায়ার’ যেন থেমে না যায়” (This chariot of fire is supposed to continue) written by columnist Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury where he made ill-propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami.

In the post editorial titled “এই ‘চ্যারিয়ট অব ফায়ার’ যেন থেমে না যায়” (This chariot of fire is supposed to continue) in Bengali Daily Kaler Kantha on last 27 April, noted columnist Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury made unprecedented malign campaign against Jamaat-e-Islami. His entire article is full of anti-Jamaat words. This article once again demonstrated his vendetta and vengeance against this party as he composed the entire write-up based on fictitious information. We want to assert that Jamaat has no nexus with the allegations, which have been brought in this article by Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury. We are vehemently condemning this post editorial.

In the article, Mr. Chowdhury presented a concocted story of rising of Hefazat-e-Islam and Jamaat’s affiliation with this process. He also claimed that Jamaat is not a genuine follower of Islam and Jamaat is trying to get into the anti-government politics in disguise of Hefazat-e-Islam. All these are nothing but his manipulated and concocted stories.

We are observing that it becomes a bad habit of some people like Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury to blame Jamaat-e-Islami for every single incident. This strategy is a part of their decade long propaganda against this organization. The patriot people will give stern reply to their conspiracies and intentional propaganda.

I am urging the concerned authorities to be refrained from making propaganda and ill-campaign against Jamaat-e-Islami.”
