Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 2nd May, 2024 expressing deep shock at the death of Bangladesh Supreme Court's senior lawyer and former Attorney General A J Mohammad Ali.

Late A J Mohammad Ali is an iconic figure in the judicial arena of Bangladesh. I am deeply saddened over his death. He has extended legal services to numerous helpless people without taking any charge. Particularly, he served many opposition leaders and activists who became the victims of repression under the current regime. Because of his such noble role, on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, I am remembering him sincerely and expressing our deep gratitude. He has struggled throughout his life to establish rule of law, justice and human rights in this country. We have lost a guardian figure of the judiciary at his demise. May Allah fulfill the gap which has been created due to his death.

May Allah forgive his sins and accept all his good deeds to bless him with Jannah. I am extending my sympathy to his mournful family members, relatives, colleagues and well-wishers.
