Veteran religious figure and former State Minister Mufti Muhammad Wakkas dies; Jamaat Ameer condoles

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 31 March 2021 expressing deep shock at the death of Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasa Education Board, Befaq’s Senior Vice-President, HaiyyatulUlaiya’s Co-Chairman, Jomiat Ulema-e-Islam’s President and former state minister for religious Affairs Mufti Muhammad Wakkas.

Mufti Muhammad Wakkas died of brain stroke this morning in the hospital of the capital. InnalillahiWa Inna IlaihiRajiun. I am expressing deep shock at his death.

Former state minister for religious Affairs Mufti Muhammad Wakkas has been elected member of Parliament for multiple times from Jessore-5 constituency. As a parliament member and state minister, he has conducted many development works in his areas. Besides, as the Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasa Education Board, Befaq, he has made significant contribution in the advancement of Qawmi educational system and to meet its demands. His death caused a mournful atmosphere among the Islam loving people. His vacuum will not be fulfilled easily.

May Allah forgive his mistakes and bless him with Jannah. May Allah help his family members, relatives and colleagues to hold patience in this painful period of time.
