Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman issued a statement on 22nd November expressing deep concern over the mild tremors felt again today, 22 November, in Dhaka City and Ashulia following the earthquake of 21 November, and urging the people of the country to remain patient and place their trust in Allah.
“In all calamities and adversities, the people of this country must remain patient.” He further said, “Allah warns people through hardships and calamities. The earthquakes that struck our country on 21 November and again today, 22 November, are warnings for us. To be protected from all kinds of adversities and natural disasters, we must seek Allah’s help more and more. Only Allah can save us from every calamity and disaster.”
“To tackle all types of disasters, it is the government’s responsibility to raise awareness among the people. Standing beside the citizens during times of crisis, instilling courage in their hearts, identifying vulnerable buildings across the country to reduce the damage caused by earthquakes, and providing necessary training and support to the public — we call upon the authorities of the concerned areas and the government to take these measures.”
