Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP Mia Golam Porwar issued a statement today, 18 November, extending his heartfelt congratulations to the Bangladesh national football team for defeating the strong rival India by 1–0 in the return league of the third round of the Asian Football Cup qualifiers.

This victory against India after a long 22 years is a moment of pride for the nation. After winning the semifinal of the 2023 SAFF Championship, defeating India once again proves that the representatives of the red and green are capable of overcoming any challenge with skill, competence, and confidence.
