Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on 15th November, 2025 expressing deep shock, concern, and condemnation over the brutal murder committed on 13 November at the residence of Rajshahi Metropolitan Sessions Judge Abdur Rahman in the Spark View building of Terokhadia Dabtala area in Rajshahi city, in which his son, ninth-grade student Tawshif Rahman Suman, was brutally killed and his wife, Tasmin Nahar Lucy, was injured. He also called for ensuring the security of the judges.

In the statement he said, “Such barbaric killings are unacceptable in any civilized society. Murdering an innocent child and carrying out a terrorist attack on a mother is tantamount to a crime against humanity. We strongly condemn this heinous act of murder. At the same time, we express our deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the slain Tawshif and pray that the Almighty Allah grants them patience and strength. We also pray for the swift recovery of the injured Tasmin Nahar Lucy.

He further said, the real mystery behind the incident must be uncovered, the actual perpetrators must be arrested, and swift and impartial justice must be ensured through due legal process. We urge the concerned authorities to ensure that there is no negligence or cover-up in this case, and we call upon the authorities to ensure the security of the judges nationwide.”
