Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar issued a condolence statement on June 12 expressing deep grief over the death of 242 passengers and crew in a plane crash in Ahmedabad, India.
In the condolence statement, he said, an Air India plane crashed shortly after takeoff in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad at around 1:30 pm on June 12. There were 242 passengers and crew on board. India's Anandabazar Patrika reported that all the passengers on the plane were killed.
I express my deep condolences to the victims. We hope that the government and people of India will soon be able to overcome their grief and loss.
