Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana ATM Masum issued a statement on May 21 expressing concern over the harassment of expatriates in Malaysia.
In the statement, he said, “During 15 and a half years of fascism, the country has been divided into various syndicates and looted indiscriminately. The nation’s treasury has been looted and laundered abroad. It would be very sad if the ghost of that syndicate is still mulling over the nation as before. Especially the expatriates, giving the best of their lives, send almost all the money they earn to the country without looking at their own comfort and convenience. The flow of foreign currency with the hard-earned money of the expatriates have enriched the national economy. However, the money-hungry syndicate has been making fun of those expatriates for a long time.
Recently, some undesirable incidents have disturbed the nation. Especially the incident in Malaysia is very "Painful. The authorities must take appropriate action in this regard and it is imperative that those involved in this incident must be brought to justice."
