Matiur Rahman Akanda dismisses the false report of Daily Kaler Kantha

Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 19 June 2020 protesting and gainsaying the report titled ‘মীর কাসেম আলীর কয়েক শ কোটি টাকার সম্পত্তি হাতিয়ে নিয়েছেন পাপুল’ (MP Papul embezzled properties of Mir Quasem Ali, worth of several hundreds of crore taka) published in the online version of Bengali daily Kaler Kantha.

Online version of Daily Kaler Kantha has published a news today claiming that there was a secret business between former central executive committee member of Jamaat-e-Islami Shaheed Mir Quasem Ali and ruling party MP Papul, which is completely false. The report failed to narrate anything specific about this business. The reporter has intentionally mentioned the name of Shaheed Mir Quasem Ali in order to humiliate him.

We want to assert that there was no secret business between Shaheed Mir Quasem Ali and anyone else. He conducted all his business openly and explicitly. The nation will remember him always for his outstanding contribution for the socio-economic development of the country.

I hope that the daily Kaler Kantha would be refrained from publishing such false and fictitious report in future.
