He must be provided proper treatment under family arrangement

Detained veteran Jamaat leader Maulana Abdus Subhan becomes critically ill; Jamaat Ameer demands immediate release

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 25 January 2020 urging to release detained Nayeb-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Maulana Abdus Subhan to ensure his proper treatment under family arrangement and also seeking doa and prayer from the countrymen for his quick recovery.

“Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Maulana Abdus Subhan became critically ill on last 24th January while staying in Keraniganj central jail. He has brought subsequently to Dhaka Medical College hospital. He cannot speak and breathe properly. He needs urgent and better medical treatment.

His family also pressed the demand to ensure his treatment in a private hospital under family arrangement. Maulana Abdus Subhan has been elected member of parliament for 5 times. He has played outstanding role for the development of the nation. He is 93 now. A man of such age requires company from his family. But he is being deprived from that minimum facilities. I am urging the concerned authorities to consider his contribution to the nation as humanitarian ground and to release him immediately to ensure his better treatment.

I am also requesting my fellow countrymen to offer prayer to Almighty Allah seeking his release and quick recovery. May Allah protect and bless our veteran leader. Ameen.”
