Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 22 October 2019 protesting and gainsaying two reports of Daily Janakantha in which they tried to implicate Jamaat and Chhatrashibir with the tragic incidents of Bhola that took place on 20 October.

“The claims and contents of the two reports published in Daily Janakantha is entirely false. I am protesting and condemning these two baseless reports as the reporters intentionally tried to find out complicity of Jamaat and Chhatrashibir with the tragic incidents of Bhola in which 4 people killed and 150 more injured as police had opened fire against the protesters who were holding a demonstration in Bhola protesting against the derogatory comments of a Hindu youth namely Bipul Chandra Baidda Shuvo against Almighty Allah and the Prophet Muhammad (pbuH).

I want to assert that Jamaat and Chhatrashibir had no nexus with the Bhola incident. It is a decade long bad habit of Daily Janakantha to implicate Jamaat and Chhatrashibir with all the bad happenings. The countrymen do not believe in such cock and bull stories of Daily Janakantha anymore.

As such, I am urging the authority of Daily Janakantha to be refrained from publishing such fictitious stories in future.
