Jamaat Ameer recalls Mir Quasem Ali and his outstanding contributions to Islamic movement

The government hanged central executive committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, noted entrepreneur, social activist, philanthropist and media personality Mir Quasem Ali to death on 3 September of 2016. Commemorating him and his outstanding contributions to the Islamic movement of Bangladesh, Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad has issued a statement on 2nd September, 2019 and said Shaheed (martyr) Mir Quasem Ali was completely innocent. I am recalling his great contributions to the country and the Islamic movement.

Since the student life, Shaheed Mir Quasem Ali had become involved with the Islamic movement in a bid to establish an Islamic welfare state. He was the founding central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir. He was the pioneer personality to launch Islami Bank, Insurance and a huge number of Mosque, madrasa and social welfare organisations across the country. In particular, he had worked tremendously to take the health care services to the doorsteps of the poor people. The low income and poor people of this country will remember him always. The government has executed this great human being just because of his involvement with the Islamic movement.

Shaheed Mir Quasem Ali was sentenced to death in connection with the false charges of crimes against humanity. The prosecution miserably failed to prove the charges. Mir Quasem Ali had no nexus with those charges. He had was made deprived from getting justice and the government executed his death penalty just to attain its ill-political interest.

Every single drop of blood of Shaheed Mir Quasem Ali will bolster the Islamic movement of Bangladesh and subsequently democracy and rule of law will be established. It is a matter of great regret that his son and Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Ahmad bin Quasem Arman had been reportedly abducted by the law enforcers on 9 August of 2016. He was defending his father’s case. 3 years has been elapsed, however he is not brought back to his family yet. Barrister Ahmad bin Quasem Arman also became the victim of government's vengeance.

We can pay due homage and tribute to this great leader by strengthening the Islamic movement. May Allah help us all to accomplish the unfinished tasks of Shaheed Mir Quasem Ali. Ameen.
