Jamaat Ameer urges government to allow Aman Azmi to attend his mother’s Namaj-e-Janaja

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following statement on June 29, 2019 requesting the concerned authority to allow retired Brigadier General Abdullahil Aman Al Azmi to take part in the Namaj-e-Janaja (funeral prayer) of his mother Begum Afifa Azam, wife of former Jamaat Ameer and world renowned leader of the Islamic movement Professor Ghulam Azam (Rahimahullah).

Almost 3 years back, some plain clothed men, introducing themselves as the law enforcers had forcefully picked up the fourth son of Begum Afifa Azam, former Brigadier General Abdullahil Aman Al Azmi from his house. Still he is traceless. Abdullahil Aman Al Azmi was used to serve his mother. Since his disappearance, mother Afifa Azam was suffering severely for not having the son around her. But she could not see her dearest son’s face even before her last breath.

As the abductors picked Abdullahil Aman Al Azmi up pretending themselves as the law enforcers, so on humanitarian ground, I am urging the government to produce him during the funeral of his mother. I hope the government will take all initiatives to let him attend in today’s Namaj-e-Janaja. We firmly believe that, it would be possible if the government sincerely wants to do so.
