Pressure for withdrawing case against the policemen in Jamaat leader murder incident

Police attacked, vandalised and looted the house of the plaintiff; Mia Ghulam Parwar condemns

Satkhira district’s Kolaroa Upazila’s Baksha Hothatganj Dakhil Madrasa’s Super Maulana Saidur Rahman was beaten to death after police had detained him several days back. Later, the elder brother of the victim Bazlur Rahman lodged a case against the police members who were involved with this incident. As a reaction of filing such a case, 3 policemen along with some hooligans attacked, vandalized and looted the house of the plaintiff Bazlur Rahman and threatened him to murder all of his family members if the case is not withdrawn. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 23rd September, 2017 protesting and condemning such heinous role of the policemen.

“We do not have proper word to condemn the heinous incident of police attack on the house of Mr. Bazlur Rahman. Nothing could be more painful and shameful than this matter where the police forces attacked, vandalised and looted the house of a plaintiff only for this reason that he had lodged against some policemen for beating his younger brother to death. This incident proved that a reign of looting, murder and terrorism is prevailing in the country. There is no democracy and rule of law in the country. This authority is ruling the country by dint of force and power. I am urging my fellow citizens of the country to raise voice against such terrorist activities of the police forces.

I am calling upon the concerned authorities to investigate, identify and to punish the personnel who were involved with the incident of attacking the house of Bazlur Rahman, the plaintiff of the murder case of Jamaat leader Maulana Saidur Rahman. I am also urging the concerned authorities to ensure security and safety of Mr. Bazlur Rahman and his family.”
