Police arrests Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member Maulana Abdul Bari; Mia Ghulam Parwar protests

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 2nd August, 2017 protesting the unjustifiable arrest of Jamaat-e-Islami’s central Majlish-e-Shura member, Satkhira Sadar Upazila’s Jhaudanga Madrasa’s former Principal and renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Abdul Bari.

“Police has unjustifiably arrested Jamaat-e-Islami’s central Majlish-e-Shura member, Satkhira Sadar Upazila’s Jhaudanga Madrasa’s former Principal, renowned Islamic scholar and eloquent speaker Maulana Abdul Bari on 1st August.

The government is plotting conspiracies to destroy the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami by arresting its party members and activists nationwide. Principal Maulana Abdul Bari is a popular Islamic academician and Islamic personality. He has been arrested unduly because of his popularity as a leader of the Islamic movement. Government’s fascist face has been exposed once again through his arrest incident. I am urging the fellow citizens of the country to raise voice against the fascist activities of the government.

Finally, I am calling upon the concerned authorities to release all the detained party members and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami including Principal Maulana Abdul Bari immediately.”
