Islam has no connection with terrorism; Secretary General condemns brutal terrorist attack in Manchester

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 25th May, 2017 expressing deep concern at the massive terrorist attack in a concert in Manchester arena of the United Kingdom on last 22nd May, Monday that killed 22 peoples and injured 59 more.

“We have no word to condemn the terrorist attack in a concert in Manchester of the United Kingdom that killed 22 peoples and injured 59 more. This attack is a massive blow to the democracy and humanity. There is no relation between Islam and terrorism. Terrorists should be tried and persecuted irrespective of their identity.

We have been observing that the acts of terrorism are increasing worldwide. Terrorisms are rampantly increasing in the Muslim countries including Myanmar, Kashmir, Palestine, Iraq, Syria and Libya. We sincerely condemn all kinds of terrorism. Thousands of people are being killed every day. All quarters should come forward altogether to save humanity from the clutches of terrorism. The basic reason of terrorisms should be find out in order to stop it. Then the peace will be restored across the globe.

I am extending sympathy to the peoples, killed in Manchester and also to the British government. Besides, I am calling upon the world communities to take effective steps to stop terrorism in different places around the world.”
