Virtual session of Central Majlis-e-Shura held

A session of the Central Majlis-e-Shura of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held virtually this afternoon with Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman in the chair.

The session was attended by the organisation’s Nayeb-e-Ameers, Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary Generals, members of the Executive Council, and members of the Central Majlis-e-Shura.

Several individuals took the oath during the session as new members of the Central Majlis-e-Shura. The Jamaat Ameer administered the oath-taking ceremony for the new members.

In the session, demands were raised to the government and the Election Commission to ensure a level playing field in order to make the upcoming Thirteenth National Parliamentary Election and any referendum free, fair, and acceptable. The demands included the installation of CCTV cameras at polling centres, bringing the law and order situation to a satisfactory level, refraining from bias towards any particular party, recovering illegal arms, and ensuring the arrest of identified terrorists.

In addition, on behalf of the Central Majlis-e-Shura, a call was made to the organisation’s manpower at all levels to continue their efforts to build a humane and safe Bangladesh by playing their role in the field with the highest level of patience, perseverance, and wisdom.
