Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament Mia Golam Porwar said, “Inquilab Mancha spokesperson and fearless July movement hero Sharif Osman bin Hadi left this world as a martyr with his head held high. He is an extremely fortunate martyr. After his martyrdom, people of the country have had the opportunity to hear many of his speeches through television channels and various media. In his speeches, we repeatedly see that he expressed a desire for martyrdom. Allah has fulfilled his desire for martyrdom. Today, we believe that both his worldly life and his life in the Hereafter have become successful.”
He made these remarks while presiding over a prayer meeting organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami marking the martyrdom of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson and fearless hero of the July Revolution Sharif Osman bin Hadi, held at 10:00 a.m. on 21 December at the Al-Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar, Dhaka.
The prayer meeting was hosted by Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim. Speeches were delivered by Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum, Central Executive Council Member Saiful Alam Khan Milon, Ameer of Dhaka City South Nurul Islam Bulbul, Ameer of Dhaka City North Mohammad Selim Uddin, Central Working Committee Member and former CUCSU Vice President Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarkar, and elder brother of Martyr Sharif Osman bin Hadi, Omar bin Hadi.
Those present at the prayer meeting included Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka City North Abdur Rahman Musa, Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka City South Abdus Sabur Fakir and Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Assistant Secretary of Dhaka City North Nazim Uddin Mollah, Assistant Secretary of Dhaka City South Kamal Hossain, Dr. Abdul Mannan, among others.
Mia Golam Parwar further said, “The clean, honest life of Martyr Osman Hadi has fascinated the nation. The surge of emotion, passion, and aspiration that has emerged among the people after his martyrdom is a rare phenomenon. The way millions of people from all walks of life—including the head of government, advisers, and political leaders of the country—participated in his funeral prayer yesterday is unprecedented in the history of this country. Allah fulfilled his aspirations and granted him an extremely high status in this world, and we hope Allah will grant him an even higher status in the Hereafter.
His family members are grief-stricken after losing him. May Allah grant them the strength to bear this sorrow. Allah Almighty has bestowed royal honor upon Martyr Osman bin Hadi. Allah has also granted great honor to his family in this world, and we hope Allah Almighty will grant them great honor in the Hereafter as well.”
He continued, “Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus participated in the funeral of Martyr Osman Hadi and delivered an important and heartfelt speech. However, he did not say a single word about the arrest and trial of the killers of Osman bin Hadi. He should have spoken clearly about the arrest and trial of the killers. We hope he will present a clear statement before the nation and clarify the government’s position on this matter. The nation wants to know how the killers of Osman bin Hadi managed to flee the country six hours after the attack. Why could the government not arrest them? What were the intelligence agencies doing? It must be investigated whether anyone within the intelligence agencies assisted the killers of Osman bin Hadi. We strongly demand the immediate arrest of those involved in the murder of Martyr Sharif Osman bin Hadi and ensuring justice by bringing them under the law.”
Expressing solidarity with the ultimatum issued by Inqilab Mancha demanding the arrest of the killers within 24 hours, he said,
“We are demanding a clear and unequivocal statement from the government regarding the immediate arrest and trial of Osman Hadi’s killers. We call upon the Chief Adviser to immediately fulfill the promise he made after participating in Hadi’s funeral. Osman Hadi dreamed of building a Bangladesh that is free from hegemony, independent and sovereign, just, fair, and based on justice. The responsibility to fulfill that dream now lies with all of us. We call upon everyone to come forward collectively to fulfill this responsibility.”
Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum said, “Allah Almighty has fulfilled the aspirations of Martyr Sharif Osman bin Hadi. He wanted to establish a just society where people’s rights are ensured and people can live in peace and happiness. If we can all unite to establish the hegemony-free, justice-based society, country, and state that he dreamed of, only then will his dream be fulfilled.”
He prayed to Allah to accept the martyrdom of Sharif Osman bin Hadi, grant him the highest rank in Paradise, and protect his family members and everyone else.
Elder brother Omar bin Hadi said, “My younger brother Sharif Osman bin Hadi always used to say, ‘Allah will protect me. My security is in Allah’s hands. Allah will give security to our family and to the 180 million people of this country. We took to the streets to free the country from the grip of hegemonists. We came to the streets to end oppression and injustice and to build a just and equitable country.’”
He further said, “My brother Osman Hadi has embraced martyrdom. The responsibility to fulfill the dream that Osman envisioned now lies with all of us. I call upon the people of the country to come forward to complete his unfinished revolution. On behalf of our family, we seek the prayers of the people of the country for the well-being of us all.”
After the discussion, Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar conducted the dua and munajat. Along with everyone present at the prayer meeting, he prayed to Allah to accept the martyrdom of Osman Hadi and grant him the highest status in Paradise.
