On 19 November (Wednesday) at 3:00 PM, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman met with the Honourable Ambassador of France to Bangladesh, Mr. Jean-Marc Serret-Charlette, in a formal meeting. The meeting was held at Jamaat Ameer's Bashundhara office in a sincere and cordial atmosphere. He was accompanied by Political Counsellor of the French Embassy Mr. Christian Beck, .

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP Mia Golam Porwar, Central Executive Council member Mobarak Hossain, and Jamaat Ameer's Adviser on Foreign Affairs Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan were present at that time.

During the meeting, an open discussion was held on Bangladesh’s current political situation, the national election, strengthening democratic and constitutional institutions, the human rights situation, bilateral relations between Bangladesh and France, and prospects for trade and economic cooperation.

The Jamaat Ameer praised the long-standing diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and France and urged France to continue its cooperation in the overall development of Bangladesh.

It was expressed with optimism that the existing friendly relations between the two countries would further strengthen in the future.
