Discussion meeting on skill development held

Ideal teachers play a vital role in building a humane state, says Mobarak Hossain

Member of the Central Executive Committee of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the party’s nominated candidate for Dhaka-13 constituency Md. Mobarak Hossain said that ideal teachers play an immensely important role in building a humane state.

He made the remark while addressing as the chief guest at a discussion meeting titled “Steps to Attain Professional Skills,” organized by the Adabor Thana Adarsha Shikkhak Parishad in Dhaka on October 18 (Saturday).

He further said, “Teachers are the true architects of a civilized nation. Islam gives great importance to spreading the light of knowledge, and teachers are its primary bearers. Allah Almighty has said in the Holy Qur’an: ‘Allah elevates those who have been endowed with knowledge to high ranks.’ Therefore, a teacher is not merely an instructor but also a guide responsible for nurturing morally upright and faithful citizens. Only through the integration of proper education and Islamic values can a peaceful and humane society be established.”

Mobarak Hossain added, “Allah Almighty has granted immense dignity to knowledge in the Qur’an, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, ‘Teachers are the heirs of the Prophets.’ Hence, an ideal teacher not only imparts lessons but also instills morality, humanity, and God-consciousness in the hearts of students. If the teaching community upholds strong moral and ideological values, it will be possible, InshaAllah, to establish a just, humane, and enlightened state.”

The keynote speaker, former Dean of Rajshahi University Professor Dr. M. Umar Ali said, “We must build our society by embodying the perfect ideals of the greatest teacher of all time Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The moral backbone of the nation rests in your hands. The role of teachers is indispensable in creating a humane society through a sound education system.”

The meeting was presided over by the Principal of U.H. International School and College Md. Ibrahim Hossain, and hosted by Nur Mohammad.

Distinguished Islamic thinker and social worker Md. Shafiur Rahman and chief advisor and noted social worker Md. Alamin Sabuj attended the event as special guests, along with other teachers.
