Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP, Professor Mia Golam Porwar, issued a statement today, October 8, urging the people to make mass rally on October 10 and the memorandum submission program to all Deputy Commissioners on October 12 successful. It should be mentioned that Jamaat has declared the programs to realize it’s five-point demands.

In his statement, Professor Mia Golam Porwar said, “We have consistently demanded to hold a free, fair, and impartial national election. But if the government continues to ignore Jamaat-e-Islami’s five-point demands and fails to take the necessary steps accordingly, the people will be compelled to intensify their movement to realize their legitimate rights.”

He further stated, “As part of the second phase of our previously announced programs, a mass rally will be held on October 10 in Dhaka city and all divisional headquarters, and on October 12, memorandums will be submitted to all Deputy Commissioners, Insha’Allah. I make an earnest appeal to all members and supporters of the organization, as well as to the fellow people of the country, to make these two programs successful in order to compel the government to hold the national election in line with the July National Declaration and National Charter and simultaneously to implement the five-point demands.”
