On Wednesday, October 8, at 9 a.m., His Excellency Mr. Antonio Alessandro, the Ambassador of Italy to Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call and attended a breakfast meeting with the Honorable Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.

At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency the Ambassador inquired about the health condition of Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and wished him a complete recovery.

The meeting was held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere. During the discussion, they exchanged views on the overall situation prevailing in Bangladesh, investment opportunities between Bangladesh and Italy, international relations, and other matters of mutual interest. The Ambassador assured that Italy would continue its strong support for Bangladesh in the future. Both sides also expressed optimism that investment between Bangladesh and Italy would further increase in the days ahead.

During the discussion, the Deputy Ambassador of the Italian Embassy, Mr. Federico Zamparelli, was present alongside His Excellency the Ambassador. Whereas Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former Member of Parliament, Professor Mia Golam Porwar, and Assistant Secretary General as well as Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair accompanied the Jamaat Ameer.
