An earnest call to the city dwellers to participate in the demonstration on September 18

The people of the country are already aware that on September 15, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, through a press conference, placed a 5-point demand. The demands are as follows:

1. To hold a free, fair, and acceptable election in next February based on the July National Charter.
2. To introduce the PR (Proportional Representation) system in both chambers of the parliament in the upcoming national elections.
3. To ensure equal opportunities for all participant political parties.
4. To make the trial of oppression, mass killings, and corruption committed by the past fascist government visible.
5. To ban the activities of the autocratic forces’ accomplices including Jatiya Party—and the 14-party alliance.

To realize these demands, a three-day program has been announced on September 18, 19, and 26. As part of the declared program, on September 18 (Thursday) at 4:30 PM, a demonstration will be held at the South Gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, jointly organized by Dhaka City North and South Jamaat. Central and City leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami will be present at the program.

We earnestly call upon the city dwellers to participate extensively in the program to achieve the declared demands.
