If the people vote for truth, it will be possible to free the country from hunger and poverty within five years, says Jamaat Ameer

-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has long been continuing its efforts and movement to establish a society based on justice and fairness in the country. Jamaat Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, expressed his firm determination to continue the struggle until the ultimate victory of this movement is achieved.

Today, while addressing as the chief guest at an exchange of views during a distinguished personality's gathering organized by Kafrul West thana at a hall in the capital, Jamaat Ameer made these remarks. The meeting was presided over by Central Working Committee member and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka City North, Abdur Rahman Musa. Among others, Central Working Committee member and Secretary of Dhaka City North Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Central Vice-President of Sramik Kollan Federation Laskar Mohammad Taslim, and Dhaka City North Working Committee member Shah Alam Tuhin were present on the occasion.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “We have been struggling for a long time to transform the country into a new Bangladesh free of discrimination, corruption, misrule, and crime. Establishing peace and justice in society is the main goal of our movement. We are determined to establish such a just society where all citizens, irrespective of religion, race, or lineage, can enjoy their constitutional rights. We want to establish a society where people’s fundamental rights are guaranteed, where there will be no division based on religion. Above all, our aim is to expand quality education in the country. Indeed, only sound education can transform human beings into true human beings and genuine human resources. Therefore, there is no alternative to enlightening the nation with quality education to face the challenges of the current century.” He urged everyone, regardless of political affiliation, to unite in building an educated nation.

He further said, “The July Revolution has created immense opportunities for us. But all apprehensions have not yet been removed. Therefore, we must proceed with utmost caution. Referring to the practice of values in politics, the Jamaat Ameer said, those who will come to power in the future, or aspire to, must carry out all their responsibilities with accountability to their conscience and with a sense of answering before Allah. Because while it may be possible to deceive everyone, it is never possible to deceive Allah. We want to build such a new and just Bangladesh where people of all religions, races, tribes, men, and women will live free from fear and anxiety. Those who held power in the past failed to give the people a fear-free environment. Therefore, thinking of the future, we must take decisions with wisdom and foresight for the Bangladesh of tomorrow. If the people vote for truth, it will be possible to free the country from hunger and poverty and bring about positive change within just five years.” He called upon all to remain united in order to realize that dream.
