On Thursday, August 28, in the afternoon, an exchange of views meeting was held at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami between Jamaat-e-Islami and three political parties— the Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA), the National Democratic Party (NDP), and the Bangladesh Janajot Party (BJP). The discussions were held in a cordial and friendly environment on the country’s overall situation and prevailing political circumstances.
Among the Jamaat leaders, its Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher (former MP), Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam (former MP), Assistant Secretary General Dr. Hamidur Rahman Azad (former MP), Maulana Abdul Halim, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair and central executive council member as well as Ameer of Dhaka City South Nurul Islam Bulbul were present in the meeting.
From JAGPA, it’s Vice-President and spokesperson Engineer Rashed Pradhan, General Secretary Professor Iqbal Hossain, Presidium members Mr. Asadur Rahman Khan, Syed Md. Shafiqul Islam, Mr. Md. In this exchange of views, discussions were held on the ongoing political situation in the country— particularly the routine electoral roadmap declared by the Election Commission, reforms, judicial proceedings, and providing a legal basis for the July National Declaration–2025 and July Charter. The meeting emphasized on ensuring the upcoming national parliamentary elections free, fair, and acceptable.
