Jamaat announces special prayer program for the departed souls, killed in the tragic plane crash

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Porwar issued a statement on July 21, announcing a program for the souls of those killed in the Air Force training plane crash.

In the statement, he said, on Monday, July 21, at around 1:30 pm, an Air Force training plane crashed into the Milestone School and College building in the Diabari area of Uttara in Dhaka, tragically killing at least 20 students including the pilot of the plane (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). Nearly 175 students were seriously injured in the accident and are noe undergoing treatment in various hospitals. We are deeply saddened by this tragic accident.

He further said, "Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 22, in all districts/metropolitan cities, I am announcing a prayer program on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, seeking salvation for the departed souls and the speedy recovery of the injured, and expressing my condolences to the families of the deceased and injured."

All district/city organizations have been requested to conduct this prayer program properly.

It is to be noted that Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has already called on all levels of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and local people to participate in the rescue operation and also to provide all-out support in the treatment of the injured."
