Meeting held between Jamaat delegation and DMP

On Thursday, 10 July at 10:00 AM, a meeting was held between a delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to discuss various aspects for implementing the upcoming historic “National Rally” scheduled to take place at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on 19 July. The delegation was led by Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Head of the Central Media and Publicity Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair,. Other members of the delegation included Jamaat’s central executive council member and Secretary of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda, Secretary of Dhaka City South Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, Secretary of Dhaka City North Dr. Rezaul Karim, and Assistant Publicity Secretary of Dhaka City South Abdus Sattar Sumon.

During the meeting, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair stated that all necessary preparations have already been taken to ensure the success of the historic “National Rally” to be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, 19 July at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka, as part of Jamaat’s movement to realize a 7-point demand. He expressed hope that millions of people from across the country will gather at the rally, along with key leaders from various political parties, professionals from different sectors, and prominent figures from civil society.

He further mentioned that hundreds of thousands of people and hundreds of vehicles will be entering Dhaka city from across the country to participate in the “National Rally.” In this context, the delegation requested DMP’s comprehensive cooperation to manage the anticipated increase in traffic, maintain law and order, and ensure the peaceful execution of the historic rally. The DMP officials assured them of providing full cooperation in this regard.
