On Tuesday, 8 July at 10 AM, a meeting of the implementation committee for the historic ‘National Rally’ was held at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman presided the program. Among others, Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary Generals Maulana Abdul Halim and Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, Central Executive Committee members Saiful Alam Khan Milon, Principal Mohammad Izzat Ullah, and Mobarak Hossain; Central Executive Committee members and Dhaka South City Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul; Central Executive Committee member and Dhaka North City Ameer Mohammad. Selim Uddin; Dhaka South City Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud; Dhaka North City Secretary Dr. Rezaul Karim; President of Islamic Dawah Circle Malaysia Professor Saifullah Mansur; Dhaka North city Jamaat’s Assistant Secretaries Dr. Fakhruddin Manik and Yasin Arafat; Dhaka South Assistant Secretary Kamal Hossain; General Secretary of Bangladesh Sramik Kollan Federation Advocate Atikur Rahman; Central President of Islami Chhatrashibir Zahidul Islam and Dr. Zubayer Ahmad attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed various aspects of preparation for the successful organization of the historic ‘National Rally’ to be held at 2 PM on Saturday, 19 July, at the capital's Suhrawardy Udyan, to press home Jamaat’s 7-point demands.
Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that the mass uprising of 2024, achieved through immense sacrifices and perseverance by students and citizens, holds great importance in national life. To fulfill the public aspirations of July-August and to show respect to those students and citizens who gave their lives, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is organizing this rally to restore a fair democratic process in the country. He made an earnest appeal to all organizational members at every level and to the entire nation to ensure the full success of the National Rally.
He expressed his view in the meeting that the success of the mass uprising by students and people can only be achieved through the implementation of the 7-point demands declared by Jamaat-e-Islami.
