Namaj-e-Janaja and burial of late Ayesha Ahmad completed

Muhtarama Ayesha Ahmad, the respected mother-in-law of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, passed away at 10 pm on July 6 at the age of 82 due to old age while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). On Monday, July 7, after Zohr, the Namaj-e- Janaja (funeral) was held at Masjid-e-Baitul Firdaus at Taj Mahal Road, Mohammadpur, and she was buried at Banani Military Graveyard at 3:30 pm.

The funeral prayer was led by the eldest son of the deceased, Lt. Col. (Retired) Matlub Ahmed. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, Adv. Moazzam Hossain Helal, Adv. Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, Central Executive Council Member and Secretary of the Central Publicity and Media Department Adv. Matiur Rahman Akanda, Abdur Rab, Central Executive Council Member and Ameer of Dhaka City South Nurul Islam Bulbul, Secretary of Dhaka City North Dr. Rezaul Karim, and other leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami's central and two City levels, family members, relatives and a large number of devotees attended the funeral.
