The murderers of Shaheed Maulana Nizami will be brought to justice; asserts Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has said that the murderers of Shaheed Nizami will be brought to justice right here on the soil of Bengal, InshaAllah. He said that no form of fascism will be allowed to return to Bangladesh.

He made these remarks on Sunday, May 11, during a prayer gathering and discussion held at the grounds of Santhia Government Degree College in Pabna, on the occasion of the martyrdom of former Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Shaheed Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami. In his speech as chief guest, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan said, “Maulana Nizami is a history, a name. The last time I met him was in prison. That day he shared many things about his life with me.”

The Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami said that India feared the leadership of Maulana Nizami. India knew that if it weren’t for the leadership of the two women, Motiur Rahman Nizami would lead Bangladesh. Out of that fear, they arranged for this trial in order to eliminate Jamaat. False cases, false witnesses, false investigators, and false judges — all were involved. International organizations have said it was a judicial massacre. The people of Bangladesh know that this was a political assassination.

He said that everyone involved in that trial must be arrested and brought to justice because they are murderers. Otherwise, the people of Bangladesh will be forced to bring them to justice themselves. Not only that, Hasina and her forces have carried out abductions, murders, and killings. Many people were detained in prison. The only reason behind all this was to perpetuate power.

Rafiqul Islam Khan asserted strongly, “Hasina has fled, her ministers and MPs have fled. Our leaders went to the gallows reciting the Kalima, but they did not flee.”
He further said, we demand that all genocides be brought to justice. The perpetrators must be hanged. Many allies of fascism are now trying to portray themselves as freedom fighters by simply changing their shirts. If they are given any leniency under any circumstances, those who grant it will be considered accomplices. They too must be brought under the purview of justice. The laundered money must be brought back. After completing the necessary reforms, local elections should be held first, followed by national elections. A sham election will not be accepted. This country does not belong to anyone’s forefathers. The 180 million people of this country will decide who they will send to power in the future. From the Secretariat to tea stalls, the buzz is the same: after trying all other parties, now it's Jamaat-e-Islami's turn in Bangladesh.

Rafiqul Islam Khan mentioned that fascist Hasina has canceled the registration of Jamaat-e-Islami. Hasina has fled, her MPs have fled, her judges have also fled. But the party’s registration has not yet been reinstated — why? He called for the registration to be returned by the 13th of this month. Rafiqul Islam Khan said that in the absence of Maulana Nizami, he left behind Barrister Najibur Rahman Momen. If he had been alive, he would have contested the election. He called upon everyone to support and vote for his son in the upcoming election.

The discussion meeting was presided over by the late Maulana Nizami’s son, Barrister Najibur Rahman Momen. Among others who spoke at the event were: central Majlis-e-Shura member and former district Ameer Maulana Abdur Rahim, district Ameer Professor Abu Taleb Mondal, Sirajganj district Ameer Shahinur Alam, central Majlis-e-Shura member Dr. Abdul Baset Khan, former central secretary general of Islami Chhatrashibir Barrister Nazrul Islam, central publicity and social media secretary of Islami Chhatrashibir Azizur Rahman Azad, district Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Zahurul Islam Khan, Principal Iqbal Hossain, district secretary Maulana Abdul Gaffar Khan, and Chairman of Weekly Sonar Bangla A.K.M. Rafiqunnabi, among others.

District Ameer Abu Taleb Mondal said that fascist Hasina had wanted to eliminate Jamaat-e-Islami by martyring our top leaders. What a cruel irony — within a year, it is she who has been rejected by the people. He mentioned that even today, our brother ATM Azhar remains in prison. He is innocent. Santhia and Bera have now become strongholds of Islam. We will avenge every drop of our martyrs' blood by building a welfare state.

Among the family members of the martyrs who attended the Milad Mahfil were: Masud Sayedee, son of Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee; Nesar Ahmed Nannu, son of Maulana Abul Sobhan; Ali Ahmad Mabrur, son of Shaheed Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid; Barrister Mir Ahmed Bin Kasem Arman, son of Shaheed Mir Quasem Ali; and Hasan Jamil, son of Shaheed Abdul Quader Molla. At the end of the gathering, Barrister Najibur Rahman Momen led the prayer and supplication.
