A free and fair election must be held based on national unity, says Professor Mia Golam Parwar

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP, Professor Mia Golam Parwar stated, "We hope that necessary reforms will be carried out quickly, and subsequently a free and fair election will be held in Bangladesh based on national unity."

On Saturday, 23rd November, 2024, at 9:30 AM, a workers' conference was held at the local government high school grounds (Bijoy Mela field) in Manikganj, organized by the Manikganj district Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, chaired by District Jamaat Ameer Hafiz Maulana Mohammad Kamrul Islam. Professor Mia Golam Parwar made these remarks as the chief guest during the conference.

The conference was hosted by Secretary of the district Jamaat Maulana Mohammad Nurul Islam. Central executive council member and coordinator of Dhaka North Region, Principal Muhammad Izzat Ullah, and regional team member and former district Ameer Maulana Muhammad Delawar Hossain addressed the program as the special guests.

In his speech, Mia Golam Parwar further stated, "The Awami League government has been ruling the country for the past 17 years by dint of extreme oppression, killings, disappearances, terrorism, looting, and by killing democracy in an illegal attempt to stay in power. However, they have failed. By the grace of Almighty Allah and under the intense movement of the students and the people, they were forced to flee the country. In 2014, 2018, and 2024, the people of Bangladesh could not vote. Awami League and their allies, including Chhatra League, took away the voting rights of the people. As per the orders of the fascist and autocratic ruler Sheikh Hasina, students and citizens of this country were killed. On her orders, innocent children, women, and common people were shot from helicopters, which is a rare event in the world. Even Nazi forces did not commit such murders against the native people. On August 5th, on the last day of her fascist rule, agitating students and people in Ashulia of Savar were brutally killed and their bodies were subsequently burned."

He further stated, "Just as Sheikh Mujib established Baksal by shutting down all the media except for four newspapers, Sheikh Hasina also established a family-based dictatorship by killing democracy. Sheikh Hasina, just four days before fleeing, banned Jamaat-e-Islami. But then, by the grace of Almighty Allah, Jamaat’s Ameer was invited with respect by the patriot Chief of the Army and Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus."

He added, "The autocratic Sheikh Hasina has fled to the place she was meant to go, but she has not stopped her malpractices. She is continuing her conspiracies. From judicial coups, Ansar incidents, unrest in the garment sector, energy sector conspiracies, and attempts to corrupt police and bureaucracy; every such ill-incidents are being taken place as per her instructions. But the patriotic students, the public, and the army have not allowed any conspiracy to succeed. The people of the country are alert and, insha Allah, no conspiracy will succeed in the future. The previous tyrannical government subjected the leaders and workers of Jamaat-e-Islami, Shibir, and BNP to inhumane torture and killed and disappeared them. Those who have been protesting for the downfall of the fascist government must stay united. If everyone unites for the election, the grave of the Awami League will be written, Inshallah."

Mia Golam Parwar concluded, "People ask why so many people are joining Jamaat after August 5th. The reason is obvious. For nearly one and a half decades we were unable to speak. We could not present the noble ideals of Islam to the people. Now, people are seeing the beauty of Islam by coming under the banner of the Islamic movement. This is not the achievement of Jamaat-e-Islami; it is the mercy of Almighty Allah. It is the achievement of Islam. In this Manikganj too, the victory of Islam will be achieved, Inshallah, through the blood of martyrs like Shaheed Mir Kasem Ali, Shaheed Rafiq, and Shaheed Saad."

He continued, "Those students and people who sacrificed their lives for the country, leaving their families in tears, we must repay their blood debt. We must establish a just, equitable state to realize their dreams. Let us work together to establish a state based on piety and ideals."

Special guest Principal Muhammad Izzat Ullah added, "We must continue our relentless efforts to establish an Islamic state. We will build a beautiful Bangladesh with everyone."

The conference was attended by thousands of leaders, workers, and ordinary people from the district. This was the largest gathering of Jamaat-e-Islami in the history of Manikganj.
