Annual members’ conference of Gaibandha district Jamaat-e-Islami held virtually on 9th February today. Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member and Gaibandha district Ameer Abdul Karim presided over the conference which was hosted by district secretary Maulana Johurul Haq Sarkar. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former lawmaker Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam addressed the program as the chief guest. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, central working committee member Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal, Gaibandha district Jamaat’s former Ameer Dr. Abdur Rahim Sarkar and Kurigram district Jamaat Ameer Maulana Abdul Matin Faruqee addressed the program as the special guests.

Maulana Shamsul Islam said, the prophets and the messengers had conveyed the message of Islam to the people in earlier ages. Jamaat-e-Islami is trying to maintain that legacy. We have prepared ourself to sacrifice our wealth and lives by taking oaths. We have made Islam as our mission. We have to work accordingly. We have gained the quality of ruling this country. The Prophet (peace be upon Him) taught us knowledge and wisdom. To establish Islam, there is no alternative but acquiring knowledge.

He said, we have to know the views of Islam about the contemporary issues. We must be skilled in using information technologies. Similarity and consistency should be remained in our works and words. We should be generous enough even to attract our opponents. We should avoid unnecessary criticism, show off attitude and vulgar words. We must create a public base. Social institutions must be formed and strengthened. We should attend social event regularly.

Maulana Shamsul Islam also put emphasis on performing voluntary prayers. This world is transient place. We must take preparation for the hereafter. We should utilize the time properly. Our manpower should be hardworking and sincere. We must lead a planned life and we have to perform our due responsibilities. We should maintain a balance while doing our organizational works and the family life. Patience and sacrifice should be our regular practice.

Maulana Abdul Halim said, we have to build our lives as per the annual syllabus. You all are leading critical lives as you are the victim of oppression under the current regime. Our nation must be freed from the fascist government.

Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal said, we have to make self-criticism and we should learn from our mistakes.
