Awami League government has hijacked the voting rights of the people

-Maulana Abdul Halim

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim has said, Awami League government has hijacked the voting rights of the people. Even the general masses are struggling to manage their daily foods. This government has come through an election of formalities and the people do not believe and trust them anymore. Since 1973, there is not a single example of holding a fair election by Awami League government. So, all opposition parties have to continue movement against this government altogether. The incumbent government has confiscated the people. The countrymen are not safe under the current regime.

Maulana Abdul Halim said this while virtually addressing the members’ conference of the Lalmonirhat district Jamaat-e-Islami on 2nd December. District Ameer and Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member Ataur Rahman presided over the conference which has been hosted by district secretary Advocate Mohammad Abu Taher. Central working committee member of Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal and central Majlish-e-Shura member Professor Azizur Rahman Sarkar addressed the conference as the special guests.

Maulana Abdul Halim further said, there were 61 parliament members and two ministers in previous 7 parliaments of the country. No one could lodge a single allegation of corruption against any of them. Jamaat had set benchmark of justice and honesty in all occasions. Jamaat has been working to establish a just-based society. Jamaat had been by the side of the people always and will be.

He said, Jamaat’s registration has been cancelled from a political perspective and we will continue our legal fight. Jamaat’s positive activities in constructing the nation will continue as well. We have to maintain full confidence upon Allah in all occasions. We are struggling in the path of Allah. We should uphold patience and boldness in all stages of the movement.

District Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman and other district leaders were present on the occasion.
