Jamaat wants to implement its pre-declared programs in a peaceful manner

-Maulana Abdul Halim

Jamaat wants to implement its pre-declared programs in a peaceful manner. But the government has become reckless and now they are mulling to foil the movement by force.
Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General and Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s coordinator Maulana Abdul Halim said this while addressing a meeting with the leaders of Dinajpur North, Dinajpur south, Rangpur, Thakurgaon and Gaibandha districts.

He further said, the government is creating bar against the ongoing movement for establishing voting rights and human rights and also to exercise the constitutionally guaranteed rights of holding rallies and processions. Jamaat sought the assistance of the administration for holding rallies in Sylhet and Chittagong. But the administration did not cooperate and paid no heed to the constitutional rights. Actually, the incumbent authoritarian government wants to create such obstruction in order to subdue the ongoing movement for restoring caretaker government system. Jamaat had carried out movement earlier against the tyrants and faced all anti-Islam conspiracies.

The government has kept Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee and many other leaders and religious leaders in connection with some false and concocted cases. We want their immediate and unconditional release. Maulana Abdul Halim urged the leaders to motivate and mobilize the grassroots level leaders and activists.

Among others, Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s assistant coordinator Maulana Momtaz Uddin, regional team member and Panchagar Sadar Upazila’s former chairman Maulana Abdul Khaleq, regional team member and Nilphamari district Ameer Abdur Rashid, Dinajpur south organizational district Ameer Anwarul Islam, Dinajpur north district Ameer Principal Anisur Rahman, Thakurgaon district Ameer Maulana Abdul Hakim, Rangpur district Ameer and Mithapukur Upazila’s former chairman Professor Golam Rabbani and Gaibandha district Ameer and Sadar Upazila’s former chairman Abdul Karim were present on the occasion.
