Members’ conference held in Netrokona

The country is not functioning constitutionally, alleges Professor Mujibur Rahman

The country is not functioning according to the rules and norms of the constitution. There is no existence of human rights, freedom of speech, rule of law, and justice in the country. The government has kept Jamaat Ameer, other top leaders, and thousands of activists behind the bar. The leaders are granted bail from the High Court but not released.

The government snatched the constitutionally guaranteed rights of securing bail away as well. I am demanding the unconditional release of Jamaat Ameer, religious scholars, and all political detainees.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman said this while virtually addressing the members’ conference organized by Netrokona district Jamaat-e-Islami on 23rd May Tuesday. District Ameer Maulana Enamul Haque presided over the program. Central working committee members Dr. Samiul Haque Faruqee and Dr. Khalilur Rahman Madani addressed the program as special guests.

Holy Quran states that Almighty Allah is the only order-giver. Everything in this world will function as per the rules of Allah. The real spirit of declaring faith is not to follow any other order except the order of Allah. We have to work hard to make the Deen of Allah victorious.

He said, the incumbent government verbally talks about democracy but actually democracy is not present anywhere. They are not allowing the opposition parties to hold meetings, processions, rallies even the in-house meeting. The government is also talking about a free, fair, and credible election. But the countrymen do not believe them anymore as it is established already that their words and works are completely opposite.

Acting Ameer further said that the mass people are suffering inhumanly because of the price hike of the essential commodities. The government has no control and monitoring over the market.
