Acting Ameer urges UN, US and the global communities to stop Israeli attacks in Rafah city

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 19th February, 2024 urging United Nations, United States and the peace-loving global communities to take effective measures to stop Israeli barbaric attacks in Rafah city, the last resort for the Palestinians.

"It is the moral and humanitarian obligation of the world communities to ensure safety of 1.4 million Palestinians who took shelter in Rafah city.

But we have been observing with deep concern that the entire city of Rafah is cordoned off by the Israeli soldiers. The 1.4 million Palestinians of Rafah city are passing days amid severe tensions and worries now. They are suffering severely from the shortages of food, medicines, drinking water and other necessary items. Recently a pregnant woman has died in Israeli bomb blast. But hours after her death, alive baby has been delivered. However, that baby had to die subsequently as it did not get due treatment. We do not have the words to condemn such tragic incident.

I am urging the UN, USA and the global communities to resist the Israeli barbarisms and also to project the helpless and innocent Palestinians who are being brutally oppressed by the Israelis.
